Amitabh Bachchan continues to be a huge inspiration to all the younger actors with his energy and discipline. At the age of 81, he continues to work harder than most young actors and never fails to leave everyone amazed with his energy. But he’s always been so hard-working. During an interview recently, Abhishek spoke about how times have changed and he envied the kind of preparation time which he nephew Agastya Nanda got before his debut in ‘The Archies‘.
Recalling an instance about his father Amitabh Bachchan and reminiscing about the times he started off his career, Abhishek said that he was doing double shifts. One day while doing these double shifts, he was so tired that he came home early and was having his breakfast. That’s when his father asked him, ‘how was it?’ Abhishek responded and said that he’s feeling very tired. Reacting to it, Big B casually said, “We used to do a lot of this. I was shooting Sholay about an hour’s drive from Bengaluru, where the Ramgarh set was. We would shoot all day, I would pack up, take an hour’s drive to Bengaluru airport, take a flight to Mumbai, go straight to Ballard pier, where we were shooting the climax of Deewaar. I would shoot all night, come back home, take a shot of adrenaline, fly back to Bengaluru the next morning and shoot all day.”
Abhishek revealed that Big B did this for a month! However, times have changed today and actors get time to prepare and just do one project at a time. On work front, Abhishek was last seen in R Balki’s ‘Ghoomer’ which got a lot of love from people and many thought it was his best work after ‘Guru’. Abhishek will be seen in Remo D’souza’s next and a film with Shoojit Sircar.
