Ajay Devgn’s film ‘Maidaan‘focuses on the inspiring story of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who led the Indian football team to victory in the Asian Games of 1951 and 1962. The movie highlights Rahim’s crucial role in elevating Indian football, with Ajay Devgn portraying the uncelebrated hero.
Ajay Devgn’s film, initially planned for a June 2023 release, has faced delays despite wrapping up filming.The theatrical release is now set for April 2024. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X to share the news. He wrote, “AJAY DEVGN: ‘MAIDAAN’ TO ARRIVE THIS EID… #Maidaan – starring #AjayDevgn – gets a new release date: April 2024 #Eid… Directed by Amit Sharma.”
In discussing the film, producer Boney Kapoor expressed, “I was amazed that not many are aware of someone as significant as Syed Abdul Rahim. He’s an unsung hero whose achievements must be saluted. His team had heroes like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco and Arun Ghosh. It takes someone like Ajay Devgn to play Syed Abdul Rahim. With him on board, I can just hope that our film inspires youngsters to play football, and India soon to bring the World Cup home.”
On Friday, Ajay Devgn made an announcement on his Instagram account, unveiling the title of his upcoming film with R Madhavan and Jyotika. The film is titled ‘Shaitaan,’ as revealed by Ajay, suggesting that it will delve into supernatural thriller elements. Alongside the title revelation, Ajay shared a chilling poster featuring the release date, adding an element of suspense and anticipation for fans eagerly awaiting this intriguing project.
