Amid the ongoing dispute between the producers of ‘Animal,’ reports have circulated that Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani have opted for an out-of-court settlement. It was reported that Bhushan paid Khetani Rs 100 crore.
When ETimes reached out for confirmation about the same, both parties chose not to respond. However, a source close to the development said, “T-Series will be giving Murad Khetani’s company its profit-sharing only. The actual amount is in the range of Rs 30 crore.” The source also added, “The IP of the film is also going to be with T-Series only.”

The makers of Kabir Singh had moved the Delhi court seeking a stay on the OTT release of Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s film ‘Animal.’ Cine1 Studio Private Limited stated in their case against T-Series that the two production houses had entered into an agreement to produce ‘Animal’ with a 35 percent profit share each in the film.

The studio has also alleged in its suit that T-Series has incurred expenses for making, promoting, and releasing the film and collected the box office revenues without sharing any details of the same or paying them any money. However, our source told us, “It is a traditional trade practice that T-Series follows in the case of ‘Animal.’ And one also knows first the cost is covered; P&A and OTT payment come only after six months. Besides, it has been only one and a half months since the film was released. T-Series definitely has the intention to honor the commitment of sharing profit. And it is stated in the contract that the statement will be shown after 60 days of the release, which is still not complete.”
The film starred Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and others. It did a record-breaking business at the box office. ‘Animal’ will start streaming on an OTT platform from January 26 onwards.
