Great Devotee in India ( iskon temple founder )

Hello friends, today we are going to talk about a great monk who is talked about in less quantity and the name of this great monk is “Srila Prabhupada”.

By the way, his full name is “His Divine Grace – Abhay Charanaravinda Bhakti Vedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada”. He is the Founder Acharya of the world famous ISKCON temple. If we talk about his early life, he was born in Bengal in 1896, when Srila Prabhupada was 14 years old. That is, his mother died in 1910.

Srila Prabhupada was quick in studies from the very beginning and he did his entire education in English only and he did his graduation from “Scottish Church College” which was a British college and due to Gandhiji’s independent moment, he did it in his graduation ceremony. Refused to take his graduation degree.

After that, Srila Prabhupada also took active part in Gandhiji’s Non-Cooperation Movement, but Srila Prabhupada was not a monk from the very beginning, initially he had a pharmacy business in Allahabad and when in 1922 he came to his Guru (Bhakti Siddhant Saraswati Thakur) When he approached, his guru saw that Srila Prabhupada’s English was very good and he asked Srila Prabhupada, “Can you do one thing for me?”

Srila Prabhupada “Yes Guruji, please tell me”

Guru “Srila Prabhupada You have to translate the Gita into English because there are many English books written by the British here, but Indian scriptures should also go there so that the whole world can know their power.”

After this, Srila Prabhupada sat for a whole year and translated the Bhagavad Gita into English and one day

When Srila Prabhupada returned home from his pharmacy, he noticed that the translated pages of the Gita were not visible anywhere in the house, so he asked his wife, “Where are those pages which I had written?”

Wife: “I sold it to the junkyard.”

Srila Prabhupada ” But why “

Wife: “The British say that tea is good for health, so I sold it to them.”

Hearing this Srila Prabhupada was deeply shocked and said “Tea or me”

His wife thought Srila Prabhupada was joking and she also jokingly said “Tea” and at the same time Srila Prabhupada left his house, prepared to take sannyasa.

Later he went to Vrindavan and started writing Bhagwant Geeta again.

Srila Prabhupada knew from the beginning that the biggest country was America and its biggest city was New York, so I would start with America only and at the age of 70, he set out for America with some money and some books.

Prabhupada knew, “I know that I will not be able to do anything alone, but that does not mean that I will not be able to do anything, and because I can do something, I will also do everything by doing something.”

During the 32-day journey on the ship, he suffered a heart attack twice, but he did not stop and reached New York City. At that time, there was a war going on between America and Vietnam, so many Vietnamese people, who were called hippies, had come there. The American government was also very troubled by this and Srila Prabhupada thought of cultivating them and gradually these people also started getting influenced by Srila Prabhupada because Srila Prabhupada used to recite the hymns of Bhagwant Gita to them and later Srila Prabhupada used to teach these hippies. Changed it to Happy and for this even the US government thanked Srila Prabhupada.

After this, Srila Prabhupada’s mission of spreading the devotion and devotion of Bhagwant Geeta and Lord Shri Krishna in the world started and under this, today there are ISKCON temples all over the world where Lord Shri Krishna is worshipped.

Even today there are 12 temples of ISKCON in Pakistan where

Bhagwant Geeta and Lord Krishna are worshipped.

Along with this, he had distributed more than five and a half crore books all over the world.
