Recently , the director of ‘The Ladykiller,’ Ajay Bahl, has addressed the rumors surrounding the film’s release. Starring Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, the film was quietly released on November 3, with minimal promotional efforts from the cast and director. Ajay Bahl confirmed that the film was indeed incomplete at the time of its release, clarifying that it wasn’t due to the actors.
In response to a video review of the film by Tried and Refused, Bahl stated To clarify, the film is indeed incomplete. Out of the 117-page screenplay, 30 pages were never filmed. Numerous crucial scenes that connect the plot, including Arjun and Bhumi’s entire love story, Bhumi’s struggle with alcohol, Arjun’s feelings of being trapped and facing complete loss, and his sense of utter despair, are all absent. It’s not surprising that the movie feels fragmented and lacks coherence, making it difficult for the audience to connect with the characters.
He went on to clarify that in regards to the rumors circulating, as the director, the filming of ‘The Ladykiller’ was indeed a challenging experience. However, it’s essential to note that the challenges did not stem from the actors; Arjun and Bhumi were a delight to collaborate with. They put their utmost effort and dedication into the film. The actual issues that affected the movie’s production were rooted in other factors, but that’s a separate story.

‘The Ladykiller’ had one of the worst Bollywood openings this year, with only 293 tickets sold on its opening day in India, resulting in a meager box office collection of just Rs 38,000.
Arjun Kapoor, in an earlier interview, spoke about the emotional and mental impact of his role in the film. Explaining further, he said that ‘The Lady Killer’ is a unique project. He invested a great deal in this film, both mentally and emotionally, and it was a deeply intense and raw experience for Bhumi and him. It’s incredibly authentic, especially in its portrayal of a love story. That’s why he decided to take a vacation afterward. He spent approximately 45 days working on the film and then took a break to distance himself from that intense space.
Bhumi’s most recent appearance was in ‘Thank You for Coming,’ directed by Karan Boolani, which also featured Anil Kapoor, Shehnaaz Gill, Kusha Kapila, Dolly Singh, and Shibani Bedi.
