Dunki could open between $800k to $1 million in North America

Shah Rukh Khan is often considered to be India’s biggest export to the world and no other actor has been able to capitalize the North American market as him. His last two releases Jawan and Pathaan are amongst the biggest Indian films in the US market. And he is expecting to repeat the magic one again with his third film of the year Dunki, his first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani.

As per the latest numbers coming in for its opening day, just in USA Dunki has sold about 30000 tickets from its 577 locations, where it has 1729 shows amassing $410553 ( Rs 3.4 crore) , while if one looks at the entire North America circuit which includes USA and Canada, the film has managed to sell tickets worth $570000 ( Rs 4.7 crore). The shows are expected to begin in the next 12 odd hours and the trade is expecting that the film should open anywhere between $800k to $ 1 million depending on how the word of mouth spreads and how many people buy on the spot tickets. From a day before the film has shown a good jump, the entire North America collection was at $450000, a $130000 jump in just 24 hours with lesser screen count compared to Jawan and Pathaan.
Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles.
