Emraan Hashmi reveals he wanted to turn down Tiger 3 because of Salman Khan: ‘When I was told that…’ | Hindi Movie News

Emraan Hashmi is the latest addition to YRF’s Spy Universe. He played the role of main antagonist named Aatish Rehman in Tiger 3 which also stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead. While Emraan has been receiving appreciation from fans for his intense performance, the actor recently revealed he considered turning down Tiger 3 when he was first offered this role.
He told Siddharth Kannan that there was never a time when he felt insecure of not getting his place in the Tiger franchise spearheaded by Salmanand Katrina.He revealed that the decision to not promote his name during the film’s production was intentional as the makers wanted to maintain the secrecy about his character. He also added that Aditya Chopra had told him he will reveal his character at the right time.
Emraan then went on to talk about why he wanted to decline this negative role opposite Salman in Tiger 3. “When I was told that I am being considered for the antagonist in Tiger, there was a fleeting thought that [said] no. Because it’s Salman and it’s Tiger and it’s his brand. But that was only for a fraction of a second. When Maneesh narrated the script and told me about Aatish, I was like this guy is so interesting,” he said.

He added that the character’s backstory convinced him and he thought that Aatish Rehman is an interesting guy. “Even though it’s Tiger’s story, Aatish’s motivations make a big impact,” he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Tiger 3 has earned Rs 376 crore worldwide gross in eight days. Set after the events of Pathaan, the movie is a sequel to the 2017 film Tiger Zinda Hai. The latest film in the YRF Spy Universe follows Salman’s eponymous spy as he races against time to save his family and country. It also has a special appearance by
