Gulshan Devaiah says he completed underestimated Ranveer Singh on Ram Leela sets: I was totally like, ‘Deepika nahi pategi’ | Hindi Movie News

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela recently completed the 10-year milestone but the reason why the movie becomes even more special is because Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone met on the sets, after which they started dating and now they are happily married. Their co-star Gulshan Devaiah had a whiff of Ranveer and Deepika’s blossoming love but at that time he didn’t think that Ranveer will be able to woo Deepika.
During his recent interview, Gulshan recalled the time when he realised that Ranveer and Deepika had already gotten into a relationship. He said that he could not understand what was going on between them in the first schedule but he could sense that Ranveer was really into her and maybe she wasn’t.
“I was totally like, bandi nahi pategi (the girl won’t be wooed) but during the second schedule, it looked like this is a relationship now,” he added.

Gulshan then shared one funny incident from the sets when he was shooting a scene where he had to drag Deepika with full strength. But Deepika being an athlete, Gulshan was having a tough time doing that. So he had to tell Deepika, ‘Let me drag you, please. I’m really struggling.’

And when Gulshan would do that, Ranveer would come and tease him saying, “Hey, what you’re like, you’re grabbing her. You’re holding her too strong. Look, look, there are marks on my girlfriend’ and stuff like that, and she would just laugh.”

“And I had nothing to say. I would say like, ‘Hey, just please tell her to let me drag her like she is resisting.’ There was no bro code between Ranveer and me but it was nice to see a romance developing between them. I completely underestimated Ranveer and said ‘ye pategi hi nahi’ (she won’t fall for you), but then I was wrong,” Gulshan added.
The chemistry between Ranveer and Deepika on-screen was palpable, and rumors about a budding off-screen romance began circulating. In November 2018, Deepika and Ranveer tied the knot in a private ceremony at Lake Como in Italy, surrounded by close friends and family. Today, the couple are celebrating their 5 years of marital bliss.
