On January 3, the ‘baraat’ of Aamir Khan‘s daughter Ira Khan arrived in a healthy style. Instead of making a grand entrance on a traditional ‘ghodi’, the groom Nupur Shikhare, who is a fitness trainer for Ira and Aamir, jogged from Santa Cruz in Mumbai to the wedding venue in Bandra.
Several videos circulated online in which Nupur and his boys’ squad were seen jogging their way to the wedding venue.The boys jogged for almost 8 km to reach the venue. After reaching the venue, Nupur grooved to the beats of the dhol outside the venue.
In the video released by their event planner, Nupur revealed that he chose to run to their wedding venue for a very emotional reason that is close to the couple’s heart. “From my house to Ira’s house, I used to run. I have a very special connect to this route. Emotional reason,” said Nupur, who has finished the Iron Man four times.
During the ceremony, Ira playfully told the guests that it was time for Nupur to take a shower. The groom then took the mic from Ira and told the guests that he has started following his wife’s orders already. While Ira looked beautiful in a white outfit for her special day, while Nupur ditched traditional wear and was seen in a black vest and white shorts.

The two signed the marriage registration document in the presence of friends and family at the Taj Lands End. Aamir, his ex-wife Reena Dutta, his other ex-wife Kiran Rao and others were present at the ceremony. Aamir also welcomed Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani at the wedding venue.

After registering their marriage, Ira and Nupur were pronounced as husband and wife on the night of January 10 in Udaipur according to Christian traditions. It was officiated by Ira’s cousin, Zayn Marie Khan and the couple sealed the deal with a kiss. Aamir was overwhelmed as he shed tears of joy during the ceremony.

The couple will host the reception for the industry at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre on January 13. The who’s who of Bollywood including superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are expected to attend the reception.
