Korean actors Shin Seung-hwan and Lim Ju-hwan have been busy working under the radar on the upcoming third season of the acclaimed British crime drama, ‘Gangs of London‘. Renowned for its gripping portrayal of criminal factions vying for dominance in the heart of London, the series stands as a monumental production with a staggering budget of 100 billion won.
Having earned critical acclaim with a BAFTA win and an Emmy nomination, ‘Gangs of London’ became a phenomenon across the US and Europe, amassing over two million viewers within a week of its April 2020 release. The show also boasts a strong following in Korea, adding to its international acclaim.

The revelation that Korean director Kim Hong-sun, celebrated for his directorial works such as ‘The Con Artists’, ‘The Chase’, ‘The Divine Fury’ and ‘Project Wolf Hunting’, has taken the helm for Season 3 has ignited immense interest among K-drama fans. Following the international acclaim received for ‘Hunters’, Kim signed with WME, one of the world’s largest agencies, and was subsequently approached by Pulse Films to direct ‘Gangs of London’ Season 3. This collaboration marks the first time a Korean director has taken charge of a series with such a colossal budget.

The inclusion of Shin Seung-hwan and Lim Ju-hwan in the cast of ‘Gangs of London’ Season 3 is reportedly a result of their notable roles in ‘Project Wolf Hunting’. Their characters will embody gangsters originating from Busan who have relocated to the intense criminal landscape of London. With the series portraying power struggles among gangs from various countries within the London underworld, both actors have reportedly mesmerized the production team with their exceptional action skills.

Lim Ju-hwan, originally slated to be a part of the production report conference for ‘Somehow President 3’ in October of the previous year, had to withdraw due to the filming commitments for ‘Gangs of London’ Season 3 in the British capital.
According to reports, filming for the show which commenced in the autumn of last year, is on track for a release by the end of 2024.
