According to reports, celebrated maestro of classical music, Ustad Rashid Khan, has sadly passed away following a prolonged struggle with prostate cancer, as announced by Mamata Banerjee. The 55-year-old virtuoso, who had been undergoing treatment at a Kolkata hospital, was placed on a ventilator and receiving crucial oxygen support.

Rashid Khan’s health faced a setback after enduring a cerebral attack just last month.

Hailing from the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana, the accomplished artist initially sought treatment at the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital. However, at a later stage, he chose to continue his medical care exclusively in Kolkata. Reports from close sources to the Hindustan Times indicated a positive response to treatment ever since his admission to the private hospital.
