Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka have reportedly ended their relationship after seven years. Speculation about the breakup arose when Tanaka abruptly stopped accompanying Carey on her “Merry Christmas One and All!” tour in mid-November. Observant social media users had already noted the couple’s absence from important events and a decline in their social media presence.

Sources close to the situation revealed that the breakup was attributed to the couple wanting different things in life.

The significant age gap of 14 years, with Carey at 54 and Tanaka at 40, was also cited as a contributing factor. According to an insider, “He wants to have a family. That’s not where she is at.” Carey shares two children, Moroccan andMonroe, with her ex-husband Nick Cannon, while Tanaka does not have any children.
Notably, Carey was seen on vacation in Aspen without Tanaka, a departure from their usual pattern of spending vacations together over the past seven years. Rumors about the relationship’s strain were further fueled by Carey’s recent admission to People that she had experienced a challenging year.
