Several actors in recent years have expressed their desire to work with acclaimed director Sriram Raghavan, known for his successful thrillers like ‘Badlapur’, ‘Andhadhun’ and the recent critically acclaimed ‘Merry Christmas’. The director has now unveiled another prominent Bollywood name who aspires to collaborate with him in the future.
In a recent interview with Indian Express, Sriram Raghavan discussed the process of writing roles with specific actors in mind.He revealed that this approach hasn’t always been successful for him, and in a casual mention, he dropped the name of Sunny Deol. He said that every time he has written keeping an actor in mind, he has not been able to come up with a good enough script. So, he now starts writing and half-way thinks of who they can cast. Many years ago, after watching ‘Raman Raghav’, ‘A City’, ‘A Killer’ (1991), a docu-drama by him, Sunny Deol had called to say ‘Do a film with me’. He was at the peak of his career then. He kept writing and rejecting the ideas himself. The director would like to do a film with him. There are also others on his list.
Sunny Deol’s most recent appearance was in ‘Gadar 2,’ a film that achieved significant success and emerged as one of the major hits of the previous year.
