Actor Mushtaq Khan, who is known for his roles in films such as Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Mann, Akele Hum Akele Tum and Welcome, recently opened up about his experience of working alongside the legendary Rajesh Khanna.
Speaking to a YouTube channel Digital Commentary, Mushtaq reflected on the stark contrast in his interactions with the superstar during the peak of his stardom and in the end of his career.He reminisced about the 1980 film Thodisi Bewafaii, starring Rajesh Khanna alongside Shabana Azmi and Padmini Kolhapure.
Mushtaq expressed his awe stating, “You can’t believe how it was. I would think to myself that I’m working with Rajesh Khanna.” He then highlighted the charm and charisma that surrounded Rajesh Khanna during those golden years.

The actor then shifted to a more poignant moment in his career when he worked with Rajesh Khanna again. This time in one of his last films titled Do Dilon Ke Khel Mein, released in 2010. He revealed that there was a striking transformation in his stardom and said, “Nobody was there, nobody. This is life, this is film industry and you have to accept it. This is the same with everyone.”

During his last days, Rajesh Khanna found solace in his family. He had two daughters,

Twinkle Khanna and Rinkie Khanna, and was married to Dimple Kapadia. Despite the challenges he faced, the actor sought comfort in the presence of his loved ones.
He breathed his last on July 18, 2012, at the age of 69. His demise marked the end of an era in Bollywood. He was the first actor to achieve ‘Bollywood Superstar’ with his unparalleled impact on Indian cinema.
