The team behind Laxman Utekar‘s upcoming period film, ‘Chhawa‘, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, is currently shooting in Mumbai for its major sequences. The film has an ensemble cast featuring Akshaye Khanna, Divya Dutta, and Ashutosh Rana, to name a few, playing pivotal roles.
Joining the team is veteran Marathi actress Neelkanti Patekar. The veteran is making her acting comeback after almost more than a decade. Neelkanti is also the ex-‘wife of Nana Patekar and has won a National Award for her much-acclaimed film ‘Atmavishwas’. “She will be portraying Dharau in the film,” informs a source.

Moreover, the team recently shot a major Rajya Abhishek scene with around 1500 crew members in Mumbai.
The team is expected to complete its shoot schedule by April this year.
‘Chaawa’ is a periodical that revolves around the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, in which Vicky Kaushal will play the titular role and Rashmika Mandanna will play Yesubai.
