Nargis Fakhri made a splash in Bollywood with her debut film Rockstar, directed by Imtiaz Ali and starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. She recently opened up about dealing with sudden fame, her link-ups with Ranbir and Shahid Kapoor when they appeared in the song Dhating Naach from Phata Poster Nikhla Hero.
When she was asked about her dating rumours with Ranbir and Shahid, Nargis told Siddharth Kannan that it used to drive her insane. She recalled the time when there was an article that said she moved into Shahid’s apartment and her mother came down to visit and meet him. She said that people were messaging her that her mom is in town but she mentioned that her mom has never been to India.
She then recounted another incident where she made a sarcastic remark about turning into a lesbian and how her statement became the headlines. “A reporter came up to me and said, ‘Oh, how does it feel to be enjoying the B-town stars’ and she said it in a way like she was insinuating something. They were writing so many stories about different people. I don’t even know anyone yet. I just told her, ‘Well, I am waiting for you to turn me into a lesbian’ and that was the headline; I got into trouble. I was being sarcastic. But her face dropped and she walked away. Those were interesting times,” she said.
