Speaking to The Indian Express, film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi believes that Diwali festivities won’t affect the film’s earnings beyond a point. He feels that the fanbase of Salman doesn’t comprise people who are just Hindus but it comprises people of all religions who would come to the theatres who are not doing Laxmi puja at home. However, he says that the film would have gotten a better opening if it had been released on Monday, instead of on Sunday. He also mentioned that the film will release on over 4500 screens across India.
Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif’s film ‘Tiger 3’ becomes 3rd highest earner of the year after ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’
Film trade analyst Girish Johar expects Tiger 3 to earn Rs 100 crore worldwide on day 1. He is confident that the movie will create history at the global box office. He also said that Tiger 3 will probably become Salman’s highest opener till date. He mentioned that the film’s solo release will also help boost its collection. However, he also said that the opening day figure for the film will be sluggish and will only grow from Monday.
Both Akshaye and Girish have predicted that Tiger 3 will earn around Rs 35 crore in India on day 1. Though it won’t be able to break the box office records set by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan, the film will surely reap the benefits in the long run considering its potential.
Meanwhile, director Maneesh Sharma recently shared that Salman has epic 10-minute entry scene in Tiger 3. “Bunch of talented and enthusiastic minds – Some of our best action, stunts, grips and effects people came together to craft a 10-minute block that does justice to Tiger’s entry. An entry that does Tiger justice. This intro sequence is a highlight of the film and includes an exciting action sequence that reminds Bhai’s fans exactly how cool Tiger is,” he added.
Tiger 3 also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi.
