Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Tiger 3’ is running a marathon at the box office. The film has been recording a steady drop in numbers in the weekdays, but has still managed to score big.
‘Tiger 3’ released on Sunday, on the festive occasion of Diwali, and scored Rs 44 crore. The film went on to earn Rs 59 crore on Monday and Rs 44 crore on Tuesday. On Wednesday, ‘Tiger 3’ saw a dip of nearly 25 per cent and added Rs 22 crore to its total, reports Sacnilk.At the end of four days, ‘Tiger 3’ stands at a total score of Rs 169.50 crore. On its fourth day, this action entertainer witnessed an overall occupancy of 18.78 per cent.
Directed by Maneesh Sharma, ‘Tiger 3’ is the third film in the Tiger series, after Kabir Khan helmed Ek Tha Tiger and Ali Abbas Zafar directed Tiger Zinda Hai. Salman reprised in the titular role while Katrina essays the leading lady Zoya. For the third instalment of this spy drama, the makers roped in Emraan Hashmi to essay the antagonist.
Speaking about playing the negative lead in this movie, Emraan Hashmi told ANI, “After the lockdown, I got a call from the casting director Shanoo Sharma, ‘Do you like to have a coffee with Maneesh Sharma’. I reached there, and he asked, we are looking for casting an antagonist for ‘Tiger 3’.” The actor added that initially it was not easy for him to accept the role as there is a preconceived notion about an antagonist. “I was skeptical initially because when you hear of antagonist there is a preconceived notion but when I heard the script I found a depth in the character and there are many shades to it which I liked it and thus I said yes to it,” shared Emraan.
