Marvel Studios on Tuesday dropped a final trailer that hinted at the return of characters like Iron Man and Captain America played by Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans, respectively. The clip also featured blink-and-you-miss-it appearances by a mysterious new character. Interestingly, it wasn’t long after the trailer drop that spoilers and photos of leaked footage turned up on social media and went viral.
One of these hinted at the possible introduction of the X-Men, with Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury saying the line, “They’re here.” In a brief moment, a character in a black and white costume resembling Halle Berry’s Storm crosses in front of Monica. Moreover, an “X” on the screen further fuels speculation.
Another popular fan theory also suggested that the costume may also hint at the entry of the comic book character Binary. Nonetheless, the introduction of the X-Men would not be so far-fetched, as Hugh Jackman is already set for a comeback in Deadpool 3, which is said to follow the events of The Marvels.
A leaked scene also pertains to a mid-post-credit scene, which is believed to be linked to a popular MCU web series ‘Hawkeye’.
The leaks have prompted hilarious reactions from fans who took to social media to express their frustration about the spoilers. Check out their reactions in the tweets below:
