Shah Rukh Khan is all set to unleash his star power at the box office for a third time this year with Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. The makers released the trailer of the film on Tuesday which is currently trending at number 2 on YouTube. The film is all set to hit the screens worldwide on December 21 .
While Dunki faces competition only from Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s Salaar- Part 1: Ceasefire in India, there are even bigger competitors awaiting in the international markets, especially America.

Buzz is that Dunki is going to find it difficult to earn some space in the USA markets. To begin with Timothee Chalamet’s Wonka, which has been generating a lot of positive buzz, is releasing on December 15 and going by the positive word of mouth publicity, it will have a strong holdover for the second week, which is when Dunki is releasing. Besides that, many American films like Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Ferrari and Migration are also releasing alongside Dunki and each one is fighting to get some space to cash in on the festive Christmas weekend. Amongst all this, Salaar has a huge advantage as its advance booking started much in advance and the film has already been scooped by about 800 theaters. According to Tuesday numbers, booking has opened in 317 locations and the film has managed to get more than 1000 shows and has sold more than 15000 tickets till now.
While Dunki has managed to get only about 126 locations and 351 shows for itself with just 17 days to go for the release. It is expected that post the trailer release, ticket sales and screen count should go up.
