Recently, pictures of V in his military uniform were shared on THE CAMP, the official app for the South Korean military. This app is where the military posts photos of its recruits for people who sign up to check out. V was seen in the pictures, standing alongside his fellow recruits.

Fans with sharp eyes quickly noticed something special – V got promoted! There’s a badge on his uniform that shows he is now a platoon leader.

Just so you know, a platoon is a group of soldiers, and it can have anywhere from 20 to 50 members, depending on the department and platoon. The soldier standing next to V has a different badge, which means he is the company leader. He even has a sign that says “10th company, 1st platoon, 1st squad.”
What does all this mean? It means that V is now in charge of leading a group of 20 to 50 soldiers in his basic military camp! That’s a big responsibility, and fans couldn’t be happier for him. People on the internet, known as netizens, showered V with praise for his achievement.
