Several years ago, during the promotion of ‘Highway’, Imtiaz Ali had envisioned a film featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The film was set against the backdrop of war and the filmmaker had shared his plans during an interview. When Ranbir asked Imtiaz about casting him with Alia, the filmmaker had painted a rough story and stated, “I’ll give you some images. A guy from outside – a battle-type situation – with a past that we don’t know. This girl, much there, we know everything about her and an interaction between them, a relationship between them.”

Ram Mandir: Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif & more celebs return from Ayodhya

It seems like Imtiaz Ali’s thought will be fulfilled by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, as he has signed the now married couple along with Vicky Kaushal for his upcoming film titled ‘Love and War’. The filmmaker has also revealed that this entertainer will hit the screens during Christmas 2025.
In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Vicky Kaushal’s father Sham Kaushal had expressed his happiness while reacting to the news about his son’s collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He had said , “I started working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 1996 with ‘Khamoshi.’ Sanjay worked with me in all his 10 films, and it is his nobility that he made me a part of his projects repeatedly. If I look back, this is one of the biggest earnings of my life. I had never dreamt that Vicky would become an actor and get a chance to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I am only thankful to Sanjay. Rest, God does everything.”
