Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor became the latest celebrity to laud actress Rashmika Mandanna for taking a stand against DeepFake videos. In her latest interview, Janhvi opened up about her own experience dealing with social media users circulating morphed images and videos.
Speaking with Film Companion, the actress revealed that she came across such morphed images when she was just 15 years old.Kapoor admitted that at the time, she refrained from speaking out about such issues, fearing that others might perceive her actions as ‘attention-seeking’ gimmicks.

Reflecting on her hesitation, Janhvi shared, “I didn’t want to seem imposing. I didn’t even know that I had the right to speak about deepfakes or altered images. I didn’t know I could say anything.”

“I applaud Rashmika for standing up,” she said while revealing her newfound determination to stand up for herself and vocalize her concerns.

Rashmika Mandanna made headlines late last year when a deepfake video went viral. Several celebrities, including Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, rallied in support of her and took to social media to condemn the act and rise the issue of manipulated content plaguing the entertainment industry.
