The Padma awards 2024 have been announced on Thursday night and the list is quite impressive as many well-known names have been bestowed with this honour. Vyjayanthimala Bali, Chiranjeevi, Usha Uthup amongst others were honoured with Padma Vibhushan award. Meanwhile, Mithun Chakraborty, Usha Uthup and others have received the Padma Bhushan.
As Mithun gets honoured with a Padma Bhushan award, his son Mimoh Chakraborty has reacted and told ETimes, “I have no words to describe this feeling of euphoria and joy.It is such an honor to feel this moment of pride and honour. Dad is truly deserving of this award and I am so grateful to our government and institution for honouring dad for this Prestigious award. I am so grateful and full of joy right now. Touchwood.”
Chakraborty has created a niche for himself in Hindi cinema ever since he started out his career in 1976. He started out with a Bengali film called, ‘Mrigayaa’ which was directed by Mrinal Sen and he won a National Award for his first film itself.
The actor is known as the ‘Disco Dancer’ of Hindi cinema and known for many other movies like ‘Do Anjaane’, ‘Agneepath’, among others.
Mithun will be seen next in ‘Baap’ which also stars Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt and fans are waiting to see the return of these actos together onscreen.
