Siddharth Anand‘s upcoming film, ‘Fighter‘ is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of the year. The film stars Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan in lead roles.
While the film is scheduled to be released this week, fans are eagerly waiting for the lead stars to kick-start the promotions of the movie. Deepika had earlier shared a story indicating her non-participation in the promotional activities.However, contrary to that, the director has now revealed the reason behind her conspicuous absence.

In a Bollywood Hungama interview, Siddharth Anand explained why Deepika Padukone was absent from Fighter’s promotional events and the subsequent social media discussions. Anand revealed it’s a strategic approach to create anticipation, mentioning Deepika’s active participation starting tomorrow. He acknowledged the speculation around her absence, clarifying that Deepika was meant to attend the trailer launch but fell ill. Anand emphasized Deepika’s vital role in the film’s promotion, stating, “Certainly, we can’t do without Deepika.”

The director emphasized the significance of the Hrithik-Deepika pairing, considering it a major highlight of the film. The director assured fans that as the release date approaches, they would gradually see more of the Pathaan actress. However, he explained the deliberate decision to limit extensive promotion featuring the pair before the release. This strategy aims to preserve the element of surprise and ensures that the audience experiences and enjoys their on-screen chemistry without any saturation.
