Actor Vijay Sethupathi, gearing up for the release of the thrilling film ‘Merry Christmas’, expressed admiration for co-star Katrina Kaif‘s dedication and professionalism. At a press conference, Vijay Sethupathi effusively shared his admiration for Kaif, applauding her meticulous approach towards her craft and willingness to strive for scene perfection.
“Katrina is someone I deeply admire. She’s a methodical actor, meticulously planning each scene. Even if she does not agree with your perspective, she listens attentively. Her relentless dedication to perfecting a scene is why she remains a force in the industry,” Vijay Sethupathi praised, reflecting on his experience working alongside Kaif.
Delving deeper into his own approach to portraying intricate and negative characters, Sethupathi elaborated on his affinity for roles challenging societal norms. He emphasized that the perceived difficulty of a role is subjective, acknowledging the complexities of performing before the camera while also acknowledging his enjoyment of essaying villainous characters.
“In my view, what’s challenging for one might not be so for another. Standing in front of the camera itself is daunting. I relish the complexity of villainous roles. It’s a canvas where I can explore facets of my persona that I can’t in real life. Negative roles allow me to tap into emotions and desires that are otherwise dormant,” Vijay Sethupathi candidly shared, highlighting the emotional depth these roles afford him.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, ‘Merry Christmas’ unfolds as a riveting thriller simultaneously filmed in Hindi and Tamil, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi. Set to hit screens on January 12, the film promises an engaging narrative.
